Closet Lust...June

So yeah, I'm cutting it a bit close this month but Closet Lust...June is here!! I've selected four really great items for you guys that are versatile for summer days and corporate office environments.

I don't know about you, but before I choose an outfit for the day, I always check the weather on my phone. And on many occasions when I've dressed for a hot day, the A/C of my office makes me really regret the fact that I didn't bring a jacket to work. I think this cardigan is the perfect solution, with the material and the knitting providing light weight comfort and classic style. It's refined and polished with its light blue color and flattering lines and I'd personally love to have this cardigan hanging in my closet.

I found this scarf on Nordstrom and I love it's juicy color. It's a fun shade between red and orange and it's also a lightweight accessory. When you're going out to the grocery store and you have on a casual T-shirt and jeans, this scarf can add a pop of color to brighten your look. And if you're in the office and the temperature begins to drop, you can wrap yourself in it like the women in my office that wrap themselves in their beautiful pashminas. It's a really versatile piece.

I wanted to feature this bag because I am in love with it. I've been looking around for a new and interesting brown bag and this is it. What I find most fascinating about it is the shape and the material. It's made from cowhide and the exterior cut of it is really beautiful in the fact that it has a bit of a geometric influence. Either way, it's a really stunning tote from Oliveve.

Everyone needs a nice sandal and I really like the cobalt blue color of this Banana Republic sandal. I love wearing outfits with one bright colored item to provide a statement to the whole look and this shoe is something that I'd would buy for myself. It's a simple flat shoe with great construction and it's something I would definitely wear on the weekends.

Thanks for reading!!

Things to Wear During the Summer Daze

Here, I created two summer looks; both of which are suited for a day out with friends. I wanted to use white as the base color of both looks and chose the tank from Forever 21 and the Free People dress from Shopbop.com. For the first look, I chose a bright yellow bag from Target to give some color to the otherwise neutral look. The simplicity of the jewelry pieces I chose adds a touch of romanticism to the outfit I think and the wedges were just too killer to pass up.

For the second look, I wanted to create an outfit for those not so hot days. The cardigan is thin so it provides a nice compliment to the dress. The dress is by far the show stopper of the whole look. When I saw the peek-a-boo glimpses of red underneath, it really took my breath away. Like the previous outfit, I chose tan wedges from the Gap and gold jewelry from Max&Chloe and H&M.

Once again, thanks to my readers for their patience. It's been a rough time. Anywhoo, let me know what you guys think of the looks.

Dress To Impress For Holiday Parties

Hey everyone! I know I haven't uploaded in a while but college has been unbelievable crazy this semester and I have had some scary health issues but everything's fine now so no worries there. Anywhoo, the holidays are upon us and many people are headed to some pretty spectacular holiday parties in these upcoming weeks. I just wanted to provide you all with some great cocktail inspirations for your own magical night. For holiday events, I would always suggest dressing appropriately because you will most likely be with family or friends and you want to look classy. The two looks below feature items that vary in price range but the expensive items (such as the coats and dresses) can easily be used for other formal occasions.

Let me know what you thought of the two looks by commenting! I hope everyone has a great time this holiday season and I'm planning to upload some more videos over the break.

Party Looks For The Party Girl

Look 1

I wanted to do two looks that are great for nights out partying with friends. For the first look, I found a red, swingy dress from Urban Outfitters and combined it with a beautiful Moroccan belt from Macy's to give the othewise shapeless dress more of a silhouette. The best part of the belt is that it does not too small to go unnoticed, nor so bulky that it steals attention away from the entire outfit. Of course, no party outfit is complete without heels, so I opted for a strappy black and silver pump from DSW.com. For jewelry and accessories, I chose gold and rhinestoned items and incorporated a long gem necklace. All the jewelry came from Forever 21 and the clutch came from DSW.

In the second look, I wanted to create a playful outfit complete with dark wash skinny jeans as well as a bold pump. With the DKNY Dark Rinse Jeans and the Leopard print Paris Hilton Tyra Pumps, I think I completed just that. I found the Susana Monoco halter top on ShopBop.com and I loved the construction of it and the turquoise color. People might be put off by the ruffle at the top, but I think it's flattering to most shapes and not too over done. I paired this outfit once again with gold accessories and chose a regular pendant necklace rather than one with a long chain. This way, the necklace attracts attention to the gorgeous halter top. For party looks, you can guess that I prefer gold over silver. It's my own preference, but it really is up to you to decide which metal to use for your look. And please, do not mix metals.

Last week was pretty hectic with moving in to my new dorm but everything is settled and in order. Thanks again for your patience! I think now that classes have started again, I'll be posting more on a bi-weekly basis. Anyway, don't forget to follow me on twitter and please let me know what you thought about today's post.
