After graduating from college in December, I've recently become a gainfully employed member of society. It's a really exciting opportunity that has lead me to scour the web for the best professional clothes that I can find for my current budget. When you're shopping for work
appropriate clothes, it's essential that you choose things that fit you
correctly in the moment and are of generally high quality. This is
especially the case when you are working in a corporate office
environment. Inspired by my recent shopping trips, I've decided to create a Closet Lust for the working woman. Below are a few of the purchases that I've made and some others that I think would still look good in any closet.
Let me just start out by saying that I bought this skirt and I'm glad I did. The retail price is $129 and I got it online for the sale price of $32. The price has gone down even more since then, so I would highly recommend purchasing it. The skirt is comfortable and falls just below the knee and the print is very beautiful when seen up close and personal. On a whim, when i was searching for work outfits, I checked Talbots.com and I am very glad I did. It's a great addition to my wardrobe.
A pop of color goes a long way for any work outfit and this top provides it. Some might be dissuaded because it is sold by Burlington Coat Factory but Burlington really is a great place to find exceptional work clothes at discount prices. I myself have bought several Calvin Klein pants that I wouldn't have been able to afford had I gone to any other major retailer. This top under a nice blazer, like the one below, would really brighten up any outfit.
This jacket is expensive, yes, but it can work with just about any dress shirt or casual tee for either a professional look or a relaxed business casual outfit. I bought this particular jacket and I love it. The tailoring is exceptional and it feels luxurious. In the past, I've bought blazers that I didn't really love or didn't fit me too well but I bought them because they were within my price range and kinda looked good. Such a mistake. After wearing this particular jacket, I've seen the error of my ways and I'm never going back to that thrifty mindset when it comes to professional wear.
Having a good pair of heels for work is really important and no one can go wrong with this shoe. BCBG makes this reptile pump so you know the craftsmanship is high quality but from what the reviews are saying, it is also quite comfortable. Spring is nearly here and the bright fuchsia color will look beautiful against the blooming environment.
